The special therapies.
Two systems complement our podiatry treatments: Laserneedle photobiomodulation for pain and regeneration therapy, and HEALITE II LED light therapy for wound healing and aftercare. Here you find the indications, the process and an honest assessment.
The principle: light as a stimulus.
Both systems use photobiomodulation: light of defined wavelengths reaches the tissue without injuring the skin and stimulates cellular processes. Four effects are described in the literature and the manufacturers’ documentation: pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory, decongestant and cell-stimulating. The treatment is non-invasive, painless and has no downtime.
Laserneedle: pain and regeneration therapy.
Typical indications at the foot, according to the manufacturer’s compendium:
- Achillodynia (irritation of the Achilles tendon)
- Tendon and tendon-insertion irritations, e.g. the plantar fascia in heel pain
- Sprains and ligament strains
- Muscle injuries, scar and tissue healing
- Osteoarthritis complaints, e.g. ankle and big-toe joint
- Bursitis, bone marrow oedema and bone-healing support
- Peripheral nerve irritations, arthritis complaints, fracture-healing support
HEALITE II: wound healing and aftercare.
- Support of wound healing, alongside podiatric care
- Aftercare following procedures: calms redness and swelling
- Regeneration of stressed skin and scar care
- Temporary relief of muscle and joint complaints
- 10 to 20 minutes per session, no downtime
An honest assessment.
Photobiomodulation is low-risk and well tolerated; the strength of the evidence varies by indication. It replaces neither a diagnosis nor necessary treatment, and it is no miracle cure: it is one element in a sound treatment concept. Whether your complaint is suitable is clarified calmly in the preliminary consultation. Appointments: 043 535 44 47.
