R1 Movement: what happens between two appointments.

The short answer.

R1 Movement is our everyday companion programme: you wear the Even R1 ring for four to six weeks while it records steps, distance, activity and recovery. At the follow-up appointment we review it together with your podiatric findings and adjust load, footwear, breaks and care. The Foot & Movement Check costs CHF 490 including the ring (regular price CHF 269); if you already own the ring, you pay only for the podiatric services according to the price list. Why the time between appointments matters.

A podiatry appointment lasts forty minutes. Between two of them lie six to eight weeks in which your feet carry thousands of steps. Until now we only saw the result: the callus in a particular spot, the irritated nail fold, the dry heel. What led to it was reconstructed from memory. The ring turns that memory into a curve, so our recommendations fit your real everyday life rather than an assumed one. Walking speed is considered one of the strongest markers of healthy years of life; painful feet quietly reduce step counts week by week, and a number makes that visible earlier than any conversation.

The Foot & Movement Check, step by step.

1. Initial assessment and goal: a regular podiatry appointment with findings, treatment and a question we want to answer.
2. Setting up the ring: sizing with the measuring ring, app set-up on your phone, short introduction.
3. Four to six weeks of everyday life: you carry on as normal; the ring charges about once a week.
4. Follow-up and review: we look together at your current findings, the development of your activity and your recovery, and derive recommendations that fit your life.
5. Carrying on: if it suits you, the rhythm continues with Podiatry Care.

What the ring records.

For podiatry the relevant figures are steps, distance and how activity is distributed across the week: two very active days and five quiet ones load the foot differently from seven moderate ones, and many overload patterns arise from exactly that. The ring also records sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen and skin temperature trends; these concern recovery rather than the foot itself. All figures according to manufacturer information; we derive no diagnosis from them.

What R1 Movement is not.

The Even R1 is an everyday device, not a medical device. It measures neither plantar pressure distribution nor gait biomechanics nor circulation, it makes no diagnosis and replaces neither the podiatric examination nor a medical assessment. A ring worn on the hand counts hand movements: it becomes inaccurate when the hand stays still, for example when pushing a trolley or using poles. Your data stay in your app on your phone; we see them only when you show them to us at the appointment, and no health data are collected through this website.
