Why this is unusual
Most podiatry practices in Zurich treat from eight in the morning to six in the evening. That is understandable: it is a normal working day, and someone who spends it standing at a treatment chair wants to go home.
For patients it has an awkward consequence. If you work until six yourself, you have to take time off for a foot appointment that lasts forty minutes. That is why many people carry a painful toe around for months.
We decided differently. The hours between six and eight in the evening are not an exception here and carry no surcharge — they are ordinary practice hours.
If you have just moved to Zurich
Newcomers often have no family doctor yet and no one to ask for a recommendation. Two things are worth knowing about podiatry in Switzerland:
- You do not need a referral. You can book directly with a podiatry practice.
- Basic health insurance does not usually cover it. Podiatry is generally a self-pay service. With a medical prescription — for instance in the case of diabetes — many supplementary policies contribute. Check with your insurer before the appointment; you will receive an itemised invoice from us.
Consultations and treatments are available in English. The complete podiatry treatment starts at CHF 130 and takes up to 40 minutes; all prices are listed openly on the price list.

Early as well: from 8 am
The other end of the day is meant just as seriously. If you come at eight, you are out before nine and at your desk before the day has properly begun. Between early morning and late evening lie twelve hours, and almost any working day fits into them somewhere.
Finding us in the evening
Zeltweg 74 lies between the Kunsthaus and Kreuzplatz. The Sprecherstrasse stop (bus 31) is a good hundred metres from the door, and the 31 keeps running into the evening. From Kreuzplatz it is four minutes on foot, from Kunsthaus seven. From Stadelhofen station it is around 530 metres, about seven minutes — convenient if you come from the Gold Coast or the Oberland.
Around Zeltweg the Blue Zone applies; in the evening a space is easier to find than during the day. All routes are described on how to find us.
About the entrance: It is on the right-hand side of the building, four steps lead up, and you ring the bell on the left for «Hottinger Podologie». There is no lift and no ramp. If steps are difficult for you, please say so when you call.
