Long-term care · Nail Longevity

Nail Longevity: long-term health, stability and beauty of your nails.

A toenail renews itself only every twelve to eighteen months. What happens at the nail root today becomes visible months later. Nail Longevity is our podiatric long-term care for the nails: regular checks, professional care, a documented course and early detection, before a small change turns into a long road.

The short answer.

Nail Longevity is the care programme of Hottinger Podologie for healthy, stable and well-groomed nails over years: a nail status with photo documentation, professional nail care at fixed intervals, preventive treatment for pressure, ingrowing tendency or brittle nails, advice for home care and, where necessary, a clear treatment plan, for example for nail fungus. Every treatment is billed individually according to the price list, with no flat fee and no commitment. Appointments on 043 535 44 47, Monday to Friday 8 am to 8 pm.

What Nail Longevity includes.

  • Nail status: findings for all ten nails (shape, thickness, colour, nail fold, cuticle, pressure points), with photos as the starting point; at the first appointment, then once a year.
  • Professional nail care: cutting and shaping, thinning of thickened nails, cleaning the nail fold, cuticle care, with sterile instruments; every 8 to 12 weeks, set individually.
  • Documentation of the course: photos compared over months, so that progress and problems become visible.
  • Preventive treatment: pressure relief, packing and nail brace where a nail tends to grow in, nail reconstruction for brittle or split nails, silicone orthoses for pressure from toe position.
  • Advice for home: cutting and filing correctly, moisture and nail oil, shoes and socks, prevention of fungus.
  • Early detection: first signs of nail fungus, discolouration, ridges, thickening or lifting; warning signs such as a dark longitudinal streak are referred for medical assessment.
  • Treatment planning: if needed, a laser series with the FOX 1064 nm diode laser for nail fungus, orthonyxia, nail prosthetics or the complementary consultation for nutrient questions, always with a cost discussion first.

Who it is for.

After a nail fungus treatment (the healthy nail takes twelve to eighteen months to grow out, and reinfection is the most common cause of relapse); for curved or ingrowing nails; for brittle, thickened or deformed nails; for runners and athletes; for anyone who can no longer reach their nails easily; after nail surgery or injury; and for anyone who simply wants well-groomed, medically clean nails all year round.

What it costs.

  • Nail status with treatment (complete podiatry treatment, up to 40 minutes): from CHF 130
  • Partial treatment, nails only: according to effort, less than the complete treatment
  • Visual check or follow-up without treatment, about 15 minutes: CHF 45
  • Nail brace (orthonyxia): CHF 75 to 145; nail reconstruction: CHF 50 to 95
  • Nail fungus laser FOX 1064 nm, per session: CHF 150, only after podiatric preparation, information and written consent
  • Complementary medical consultation, per hour: CHF 180 (optional)

No flat fee, no advance payment, no minimum term. All prices in Swiss francs, guide values. Podiatric nail care is a self-pay service; some supplementary insurance plans contribute, depending on your policy.

What Nail Longevity is not.

Not a cosmetic nail salon (no gel or acrylic modelling), not a substitute for medical assessment of warning signs (a new dark longitudinal streak, sudden changes to a single nail, pain, pus or fever), and never a nail fungus treatment without findings: nail fungus is treated exclusively with the FOX 1064 nm diode laser; Stellar M22 and LaseMD Ultra are used only on the skin, never on the nail. Where sensation in the feet is markedly reduced or circulation is impaired, we work with particular care and in consultation with your doctor. Nails take time, and a specific outcome cannot be guaranteed.

Your first step.
