Foot scars: softer, flatter, less visible.
A scar at the foot is rarely large but rarely quiet: it rubs in the shoe, pulls when walking, shows in sandals. Whether after hallux surgery, ingrown-nail surgery, a wart or an injury, we treat foot scars where podiatry and skin meet: early with care and light, later with non-ablative laser at Villa Zeltweg in the same building, always with a picture and findings.
Which scars we treat.
- After hallux valgus surgery: firm longitudinal scars that rub in the shoe: silicone, massage, HEALITE II, then ResurFX for structure
- After ingrown-nail surgery: small scars at the nail edge: HEALITE II, nail care, ResurFX if needed
- After wart or corn treatment: discoloured or sunken spots: LaseMD Ultra for colour, HEALITE II
- After injury or cut: irregular, darker or redder scars: ResurFX for structure, LaseMD Ultra with tranexamic acid for colour
- Hypertrophic scars: ResurFX series plus silicone; keloid tendency needs dermatology first
- Stretch marks on the lower leg: ResurFX or LaseMD Ultra
Fresh surgical wounds are never lasered. The laser series starts after wound closure, once the scar is closed and calm, usually six to eight weeks after surgery. Scars mature over about twelve months and respond best during that time.
The options compared.
Silicone and scar massage are the basis of all scar care. HEALITE II calms and supports healing early on. ResurFX, a fractional non-ablative 1565 nm laser, remodels structure and firmness in usually three to five monthly sessions with one to three days of redness. LaseMD Ultra, a 1927 nm thulium laser, evens out colour and surface. Injections and surgical scar revision belong to physicians; we refer and accompany. A scar does not disappear; realistic is a scar that is flatter, softer, lighter and no longer bothers you in the shoe.
How we keep it clean: laser, IPL and radiofrequency applications are performed by Nicola M. Mössner at Villa Zeltweg in the same building, within the Swiss V-NISSG competence certificate “skin and pigmentation” and exclusively non-ablative; nail fungus is treated only with the FOX 1064 nm diode laser, Stellar M22 and LaseMD Ultra are used on the skin only, never on the nail; podiatry prepares and provides aftercare. Not offered: ablative lasers, moles and unclear skin changes, applications near the eyes, spider veins, hair removal, tattoo removal. Every treatment starts with findings, information and your written consent; no particular result can be guaranteed. All treatments are self-pay services.
When we do not treat scars.
Not, or only after individual assessment: open wounds, stitches, crusts or infections; keloid tendency without dermatological assessment; fresh tan or self-tanner; photosensitising medication such as isotretinoin; pregnancy and breastfeeding, epilepsy or light sensitivity; markedly reduced sensation or severe circulatory disorders; unclear skin changes in or next to the scar.
Your first step.
